About Steve

Steve Fagaly is Senior SEO Manager at Savor Brands, based in Honolulu. He has been with the company for three years, and his job is to put Savor Brands in front of the people already looking for it: search, Google Ads, the website itself, and the Google Business listing that a lot of packaging buyers land on first.

Before Savor Brands he ran SEO, blog content and web design for the Hawaii tourism industry, and before that worked in product branding and marketing in Colorado. Across roughly twenty brands, sites and product lines, work he has been part of has brought in more than twenty million dollars in revenue. He holds associate degrees in Marketing and Multimedia.

He writes for the person who has to make the call, which is usually the owner or the marketing manager reporting to them. The posts under his name are about the commercial side of a package: the choices made before anything is printed, and the ones that are expensive to reverse afterward. His position on most of them runs against a market that shops on unit price. What the product tastes like, and what the package does to keep it that way, matter more than the few cents a cheaper bag saves.

Ask him what customers should raise sooner and he will say the domain name, which sounds like a small thing and is not. Ask what he got wrong early on and he will say he took on work he should have turned down, and that knowing when to say no is most of the skill. He is not a conference speaker and has no interest in becoming one. Getting to the top of Google and increasing sales is what he is known for, and most of that happens quietly, including the automation work now running behind how the company operates.

“The right decisions early on can lead to free and powerful advertising.”

Working on packaging right now?

If something here raised a question about your own bags, the fastest answer is usually a short conversation rather than another article. Tell us what you are running and we will tell you what we would change.
